Hi my name is Dalila Jasmin, and I've been Bellydancing for about 20 years. My primary Belly Dance teachers were Sharon Page Ritchie and Katarina Burda. I've had training in many different dance forms and tend to use a variety of movements in my dancing. The music I choose is often a fusion of various cultures and musical traditions (which could be called World Music.) My specialty is performing with 1-3 swords. Also fans, veils, cane, and finger cymbals. I also make most of my costumes. My dance training has included: Ballet (7 years while growing up), Afro-Haitian, West African, Hawaiian,Tahitian, Maori, Modern, Jazz, Flamenco, Samba, and Belly Dancing, as well as Jujitsu and Bikram Yoga. I've perfomed in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond in a variety of venues and events. To name a few: The Dark Room Eros Rakkasah at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium: Performed with the bands Desert Wind, Light Rain, and others. Summer Caravan at the Scottish Rites Center Performed with the Arabian Knights Band. Desert Dance Festival El Mansour The Grapeleaf Great America Music Hall McKenna Theater Old Wives Tale The Eagle A Little More El Rio Mama Bears Saint Francis Meal Service At Lily's and Kimo's as part of Rainbeau Productions Part of Liquid Fire Productions at Luna Sea, SomArts Theatre, and The Black Box . Performed in RubyTuesday's Rocky Horror Superstar at the Victoria Theatre for a 6 week run. Also performed in various Klubstitute Collective's show. Bellydanced in a Hip-Hop Music Video with F.A.B. by 400 Blows Productions. Other things I've done....... Am registered with Beau Bonneau Casting.. Have also been an Extra in feature films, commercials, T.V., and Music Videos. Appeared in "Sweet November" holding a baby in a DMV line next to Keanu Reeves. Was also in "The Bachelor" (starring Chris O'Donnel and Renee Zellweiger), "Bedazzled", "The Wedding Planner" (starring Jennifer Lopez). In 2005 was an extra in "Rent" in the New Years Eve Scene. Have also been an extra in T.V. shows Nash Bridges, and The Division. Was an extra in a Luis Miguel music video, and BellyDanced in a FAB Hip-Hop music video.. |
